Product catalog

Manage your store's centralized product catalog

Once your Storefront page is created, the next step involves populating it with products for customer discovery and acquisition. Building a comprehensive product catalog is essential for presenting your offerings, monitoring inventory levels, and providing a range of product configurations.

Building your product catalog

Building your product catalog

The product catalog resource allows you to view, create, and manage the products that you offer to your customers. It contains a list of your exportable products, so you can reconcile it with your internal records. You can also search for a specific product by its description, name, or metadata.

To start building your product catalog, add your first product through the following steps:

  1. Log in to your Dashboard, then go to Product catalog.
  2. Click the Add product button.
  3. Fill out the fields to create your first product.
TIP: Product detail requirements

When creating a product, only its name and price are required. You can still update its description or add its images after you have created the product.

Updating your product details

After creating the product, you will be redirected to its details page. From there, you can manage its details, image, variants, and metadata.

  • Details:
    • Name: The primary identifier of your product. This will be displayed
    • Description: A summary of your product's features.
    • Status: Dictates whether the product is visible or not for your customers to purchase.
  • Product image: This image will be displayed on your storefront’s product listing page.

The Storefront's product listing

  • Pricing:

The product's pricing details

  • Default price: The value you initially set when you create a product.
  • Inventory: The number of available stocks for the product.
  • Purchase limit: The maximum number of items a customer can purchase on a single transaction.
  • Variants and options: A product's variations If you want to offer different options for your product, such as different colors and sizes, you can enable the product’s variants feature. This overrides the default price you initially set, including the inventory that you may have previously tracked and the product's purchase limit.

Creating variants and options

To create options for your product, you must first create a variant, or the label or category for the options.

  1. After enabling the Variants option, click the Add variants button.
  2. Input the label of your first variant (e.g., “Size”, “Color”, etc.)
  3. Once you have added a variant, you can now input the corresponding options (e.g., if the variant you created is “Size”, you can input “Small”, “Medium”, and “Large” as options)
  4. You can add up to 20 variants per product.
TIPS: Important considerations when managing variations
  • Each variant added must have at least one option.
  • Adding or deleting a variant will re-create variations based on the existing variants. Previous values, such as prices and quantities, will not be retained.
  • A combination of two variants will result in a variation, which can have its own image and price, have its inventory tracked, and have a purchase limit set.
  • A variation can be set to active or inactive. When inactive, the variation will not be available for purchase.
  • Metadata: A set of key-value pairs useful for storing additional information about the payment. You can see how some of our existing merchants utilize metadata to simplify reconciliation in their businesses on this page.
